The US shisha market splits into blonde-leaf brands that print about 0.05% nicotine (Al Fakher, Starbuzz, Fumari, Haze, Trifecta Blonde) and dark-leaf brands that run stronger (Tangiers Noir at a stated 0.4%, Darkside, Musthave). Al Fakher (UAE) and Starbuzz (California) are the two that have moved into e-hookahs under their own names: Al Fakher's Crown Bar disposables and pods for the OOKA electric hookah, and the Starbuzz E-Hose. Turkey's Adalya has not, yet its Love 66 and Lady Killer are among the most-copied flavor names on e-hookah devices. The table covers 15 brands, with facts from the makers' pages or named US hookah retailers as of October 2026.

A dash under nicotine means no figure is published, not that the tobacco is nicotine-free. Printed figures are often low: a 2026 lab test found 12 of 15 flavors sold as 0.05% measured higher. The full picture is in how much nicotine is in hookah.
Blonde leaf vs dark leaf
Blonde (washed Virginia) leaf is the lighter, sweeter, lower-nicotine style that hookah retailers credit Al Fakher with popularizing: Al Fakher, Starbuzz, Fumari, Adalya, Haze, Afzal and Al Waha. Dark leaf (unwashed Burley or similar) is heavier and stronger, packed for a hotter, denser session: Tangiers, Darkside and Musthave. Trifecta, Azure and Zomo sell both. If you are moving from shisha to an e-hookah, the leaf you smoke is a better guide to the strength you want than the brand name.
Al Fakher vs Starbuzz
| Al Fakher | Starbuzz | |
|---|---|---|
| Origin | Dubai, UAE, since 1999 | California, USA, since 2005 |
| Leaf | Blonde (Virginia) | French Virginia |
| Printed nicotine | 0.05% | 0.05% |
| Signature flavors | Two Apples, Mint, Magic Love, Gum Mint | Blue Mist, Code 69, Pirate's Cave |
| Electronic products | Crown Bar disposables, including the Crown Bar Ultra 25K we stock; Al Fakher pods for OOKA | Starbuzz E-Hose (disposable e-hose) |
Al Fakher is the classic-flavor brand and Starbuzz the inventive-flavor brand. Al Fakher has also gone further into electronics, with several Crown Bar models from a pocket pen to a disposable hookah head; the full list is in e-hookah brands compared.
Adalya, and the flavors everyone borrows
Adalya, from Turkey, sells no e-hookah under its name, but its flavor names are everywhere: Love 66, Lady Killer, Hawaii and Mi Amor all appear on e-hookahs from other makers, including the Olit Hookalit devices we stock. Adalya calls Love 66 "the original. Often imitated, but never duplicated." How those flavors compare with Al Fakher's Magic Love, and which devices carry each, is in Love 66 vs Magic Love vs Lady Killer.
The American brands: Fumari, Tangiers, Social Smoke, Trifecta, Azure
Fumari (San Diego) is known for White Gummi Bear and Ambrosia on washed blonde leaf at a stated 0.05%. Tangiers began in San Diego and is now made in Phoenix; it is the best-known dark-leaf brand, with Cane Mint described as "an exceptionally cold peppermint" and a Noir line stated at 0.4%. Social Smoke uses natural, unwashed leaf; Trifecta (Washington State) and Azure both sell a blonde and a dark line. None of these has its own e-hookah.
Nakhla, Afzal, Al Waha, Zomo and the Russian brands
Nakhla (Egypt) is the brand most associated with the original anise-heavy Double Apple. Afzal (India) is best known for Pan Raas, its paan flavor. Al Waha (Jordan) soaks French leaf in honey. Zomo comes from South America (retailers disagree on Brazil or Paraguay). Darkside and Musthave (Russia) are dark-leaf brands with flavors such as Supernova and Pinkman.
From shisha brand to e-hookah: what to look for
| If you smoke… | Flavor names to look for on an e-hookah | Strength to look for |
|---|---|---|
| Al Fakher | Two Apple, Magic Love, Gum Mint, Grape Mint, Lemon Mint | Low (0.35–0.6%) |
| Adalya | Love 66, Lady Killer, Hawaii, Mi Amor | Low (0.35–0.6%) |
| Starbuzz | Blue Mist, Code 69 | Low (0.35–0.6%) |
| Tangiers, Darkside, Musthave (dark leaf) | Mint-heavy names; cold mints such as Mint Frost | Higher; compare 2–5% devices |
This is a starting point, not an equivalence: shisha and e-liquid nicotine are measured differently (weight vs volume), and the nicotine guide explains why. For the hardware, start with the best e-hookah ranking or the e-hookah vs traditional hookah comparison.
We do not sell shisha tobacco and have no relationship with any brand on this page other than stocking Al Fakher's Crown Bar. Brand facts are what each maker or named retailer publishes; we do not judge which products are genuine or where to buy them.
